    Procurement

The SupplierIQ product is IBISWorld's company-level intelligence offering for procurement teams, delivering standardised supplier profiles for thousands of domestic and foreign companies. Each report combines company-level fundamentals (ownership, leadership, headcount, NAICS classification) with financial insights (income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, ratios) and product/service market positioning β€” giving procurement teams a single source of truth for supplier discovery, vetting, and ongoing risk monitoring.
Note: SupplierIQ is a US-only product. The Country parameter on every endpoint is restricted to "US". Any other value returns 400.

    Public vs Private Companies#

SupplierIQ covers both public and private US companies. The two ownership types share an identical envelope and metric structure but differ in the values returned in each Years entry:

Use the OwnershipType field in GeneralInformation ("Public" or "Private") to drive any conditional handling in your client code.

    Typical Workflow#

    1.
    Discover suppliers with /supplieriq/v3/reportlist.
    2.
Stay fresh with /supplieriq/v3/updatedreports (poll daily/weekly and refresh only changed suppliers).
    3.
Fetch content via /supplieriq/v3/sections β€” bundle only the sections you need.

    Design Guidance & Best Practices#

Target sections of a SupplierIQ report: Pull only what you need and bundle multiple sections in one call using /supplieriq/v3/sections.
Cache smartly: Combine /supplieriq/v3/updatedreports with local caching to minimise bandwidth and detect supplier refreshes without re-pulling the full catalogue.
Handle null Ratios gracefully: Requesting the ratios section for a private company returns "Ratios": null β€” this is expected behaviour, not an error.
